At-Home Delivery of Medical Services & Nutritional Counseling
We know how important it is for our community to be healthy, but with so many distractions in this world, this task may seem difficult. We offer at-home delivery of medical services to those who aren't quite accessible, such as the elderly, teenagers with babies, and low income families. Nutritional counseling is also available.
Research is indicating that there is a link between diet and chronic degenerative diseases of older persons, and even supports that better diet and a balanced nutrition could improve conditions such as cataract of the eye, retinal degeneration leading to blindness, declining immune function, cardiovascular disease, stroke, osteoporosis, and even cancer.
It is important to note that the percentage of the population over age 65 is estimated to be 20 to 25 percent; that is one out of every four or five Americans. Per Mike Epsy, of Health Guidance for Better Health, “...this demographic shift presents our Nation with a most important challenge: the health and nutritional needs of a population that is growing older. Our food and food products will increasingly have to address the special needs of older Americans as they strive to maintain a higher degree of function into old age. Older persons need more nutrients, a different level of calories, more vitamin D, and changes in the intestinal tract need more vitamins.”
Women of childbearing age need more nutrition, to help reduce birth defects, as they feed their children, with more nutrients.
Women need to increase the amount of iron absorbed from food by eating vitamin C-rich foods -- orange juice, broccoli, tomatoes -- along with foods high in iron, in order to afford being anemic or iron deficient, not to mention the need for calcium, folic acid, which helps to maintain bone density and protection from cancer.
